Kara Tarr is a psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner based in Franklin, Tennessee, with extensive experience treating individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a forensic focus from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, followed by a post-master’s certification as a psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner from the University of Cincinnati.

Kara is deeply passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating the complexities of both substance use disorders and mental health challenges. She also holds an additional certification through the Addictions Nursing Certification Board, further reflecting her commitment to this specialized population.

Outside of work, Kara enjoys strength training, boxing, and spending time with her two dogs and two cats.
