I have worked with young teen moms. I have my own children and now grandchildren. I have been part of the fostering program and taken in respite when needed and had some challenges with behaviors in my home. I had to understand that these challenges were from behaviors from trauma brought on earlier in life and what came so normal to me and my family may look foreign to them. Everyday was a new and different day to try somthing differnt to get to know that persons likes and dislikes. That youth taught me patience, resilience and that they were strongest person I've ever known.
I dont know if some adults realize how hard it is for young teens today. They have school, body changes, kids that will like them some that won't. Self identity issues, peer pressure, parents that dont understand them or listen to them. Some are left to fend for themselves and care for their younger siblings, some that are just lonely, maybe they just need someone to talk to. That is so much for a young teen to deal with it's plenty for an adult as well. So, I am excited that we can extend and reach out to our young people now while they are young...... because it is what transforms you into who you will and want to become. If right now all it is is to be Heard and listen to, I want to be part of that here with you!!!.
I love being outdoors in the sun and on the beach with a good book.. I like feeling the SUN on my face.I love all genres of music. I believe it is healing in its own way. I feel like the right song seems to come on at EXACTLY the right time!!! I love my 2 fur babies Zoe and Zane.

Associate Medical Director, Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
I believe very strongly that all individuals deserve kind, compassionate and equitable care. I truly believe that as a medical professional that it is my responsibility, and honor, to advocate for individuals who may not be able to do so for themselves. Caring for youth has been one of the greatest pleasures in my work as a nurse and nurse practitioner. I love the energy and honesty that young people bring to a visit.
